Q. What is a registered office (RO) address?

All companies must have a registered office, which must be a situated at a physical location in their country of registration (England and Wales for companies registered through this site). It can be your business address, the address of your accountant or any other address you choose. However, it must be an address at which you will be able to deal with all official letters and notices that you receive.

Q. Can a PO Box be used for the registered office address?

Yes, provided the full physical address is given including the postcode.

Q. How do I notify Companies House of a change of registered office address?

The easiest and quickest way to notify Companies House of this change is online via WebFiling, however, if you do not have the facility to file online you can download a Change of registered address form AD01, and on completion send to Companies House, Crown Way, Cardiff CF14 3UZ

Q. When will the change of Registered Office take effect?

The new registered office will not take effect until Companies House have entered it onto their database.
