Dreamweaver connects to the MySQL database but why does it report no
tables are present?

This is a bug in Dreamweaver connecting with databases that contain non alpha numeric characters in the database name.

Details of the bugs can be found in version 8 of Dreamweaver :
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=f56452a8

Macromedia have provided a fix available at :
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/dreamweaver/updates/dw_
8/8_0_1/win/dw8_801_update_en.exe

Upgrade to the 8.01 update and then remove remote connection scripts by going to
site > advanced > remove connection scripts.

Tables should now be visible.

Please note this solution is only available to users of Dreamweaver who hold a legal and registered copy of the product.
